Resting Metabolic
Rate (RMR) »

It's a common belief that eating less is the key to losing weight. The reality is more complicated, and often works against you. Our Resting Metabolic Rate Test measures exactly how much energy your body needs to keep the lights on, so your nutrition is built from data rather than guesswork.

What is an
RMR Test »

Your Resting Metabolic Rate is the number of calories your body burns at complete rest, simply to keep you alive and functioning. Our RMR Test uses a CardioCoach™ to measure your oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production while you rest, calculating your metabolic rate in kcal per day. This gives a precise baseline for how much energy your body truly needs, so your composition goals and nutrition can be set from real data rather than smart-scale estimates or generic calculators. No guesswork, just your own body doing it's thing!

Why Under-eating Backfires »

When the body consistently doesn't get enough fuel, it adapts and not by shedding kilo. Over time, chronic under-eating can lower your baseline metabolic rate, increase your overall stress load, make your body more efficient at storing fat, and reduce muscle mass, which slows your metabolism further . In other words, the body becomes more protective, not more responsive to weight loss. It's instinctive: your body is simply for survival. Knowing your true RMR is the first step to working with that instinct rather than against it.

Metabolic Maxing »

Once you know your baseline, the day-to-day habits matter. Build stable blood sugar with balanced meals: a fistful of protein, complex wholegrain carbs, a little healthy fat and plenty of veg. Prioritise good sleep and a proper wind-down routine. Eat enough nutrient-dense food and aim for over 30g of fibre a day. Don't skip breakfast and include protein when you do eat it. Avoid eating too late, build and maintain muscle with adequate protein and progressive weight training, and move more in a slower Zone 2 / FatMax pace. When your body feels safe and nourished, it's often far more willing to let go of excess weight.
